Senator Reid asked the Minister representing the Minister for Foreign Affairs, upon notice, on 4 October 1984:

In respect of the Minister's Department and statutory authorities responsible to the Minister:

(a) how many motor vehicles did they own before 2 March 1983;

(b) how many motor vehicles do they now own;

(c) how many motor vehicles have they purchased since 2 March 1983;

(d) what type, size and make of motor vehicles have they purchased;

(e) what was the individual and total cost of these vehicles; and

(f) for what purpose were the vehicles purchased.

Senator Gareth Evans —The Minister for Foreign Affairs has provided the following answer to the honourable senator's question:

The Department of Foreign Affairs does not own any motor vehicles and has not purchased any. The answer to the honourable senator's questions therefore is:

(a) Nil.

(b) Nil.

(c) Nil.

(d) n.a.

(e) n.a.

(f) n.a.
