(Question No. 1069)


Senator Bolkus asked the Minister representing the Minister for Trade, upon notice, on 24 August 1984:

(1) How many word processors, stenographers and typists are employed in the Minister's Department.

(2) As of 1 September 1984, how many such staff have been, or are, off work with repetition strain injury or suspected repetition strain injury.


Senator Walsh —The Minister for Trade has provided the following answer to the honourable senator's question:

(1) There are a total of 196 word processing typist, stenographers and typists employed in the Department of Trade.

(2) As at 1 September 1984, 17 such staff have been, or are, off work with repetition strain injury or suspected repetition strain injury.
