Senator CHANEY (Leader of the Opposition) —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate-

(a) expresses its concern at attempts by the coal mining unions to interfere with the commercial arrangements between Australia's coal producers and overseas purchasers and the failure of the Government to repudiate such trade union action; and

(b) calls upon the Government to encourage the trade unions along with other interested parties to act in a way which will facilitate Australia's obtaining the best possible market share during this difficult period for the coal industry.
