Senator JACINTA COLLINS (VictoriaManager of Government Business in the Senate and Parliamentary Secretary for School Education and Workplace Relations) (15:07): Mr Deputy President, I seek leave to make a brief statement.

The DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Leave is granted for one minute.

Senator JACINTA COLLINS: Thank you, Mr Deputy President. The issue here is that we have been asked to allow for this document to be tabled—

Senator Fierravanti-Wells: You demanded it, you silly woman!

The DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Order on my left!

Senator JACINTA COLLINS: Until the usual courtesies have been followed and we can consider the document that is proposed—

Opposition senators interjecting

The DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Order on my left! Senator Collins, resume your seat.

Opposition senators interjecting

The DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Senators on my left, you are delaying time for motions to take note of answers.

Government senators interjecting

The DEPUTY PRESIDENT: And also senators on my right!

Senator Crossin interjecting

Senator Fierravanti-Wells: Women on your side are all quota girls!

Senator Crossin: I take offence!

Senator Jacinta Collins: You are now on the record!

Senator Fierravanti-Wells: I've been on the record before. You didn’t have to work as hard as everyone else to be here.

The DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Order! Senator Collins, you have the call.

Senator JACINTA COLLINS: The government would seek to see the document that has been proposed by Senator Williams, as is the usual courtesy.
