Prime Minister
Ms JULIE BISHOP (Curtin—Deputy Leader of the Opposition) (14:44): My question is to the Prime Minister. I refer the Prime Minister to revelations on the ABC's The 7.30 Reportlast night that a series of text messages and phone calls occurred between Mr Hodges from her office and Ms Kim Sattler of Unions ACT in relation to the comments by the Leader of the Opposition on Australia Day. Has the Prime Minister viewed the text message exchanges between Mr Hodges and Ms Sattler?
Ms GILLARD (Lalor—Prime Minister) (14:44): I have dealt with the matter involving Ms Sattler and Mr Hodges before and I stand by those statements.
Ms JULIE BISHOP (Curtin—Deputy Leader of the Opposition) (14:44): My supplementary question is to the Prime Minister. If the Prime Minister has not viewed the text messages, how has she satisfied herself that the statement she made in relation to this matter on 28 January—namely, that the Leader of the Opposition's comments were relayed accurately—was true?
Ms GILLARD (Lalor—Prime Minister) (14:44): I have dealt with this matter before. I have nothing to add.
