Defence Force Retirement and Death Benefit Amendment (Fair Indexation) Legislation
To the Honourable Members of the House of Representatives in the Parliament assembled:
T his petition of concerned Australian citizens draws to the attention of the House the need for veterans receiving benefits from the Defence Forces Retirement Benefits Scheme (DFRB) and the Defence Force Retirement & Death Benefits Scheme (DFRDB) to have their benefits adequately indexed. We therefore call on the House to consider and pass the Defence Force Retirement and Death Benefit Amendment (Fair Indexation) Bill 2010 to ensure that the 'unique nature of military service' is recognised through military superannuation arrangements.
