Mr COULTON (3:12 PM) —My question is to the Prime Minister. Prime Minister, what financial recourse is there for households who paid for their own roof inspections, in light of the failure of the government’s Home Insulation Program, because they feared for their family’s safety and were frustrated by extended delays with government expansions? Prime Minister, why are these people not being compensated for any reasonable cost of inspections?

Ms GILLARD (Prime Minister) —I thank the member for his question. I would say to the member that if there is a specific constituent matter that he wants to raise either directly with me or with the relevant minister then I am happy to respond to it. On the Home Insulation Program in general, the member would probably be aware that there is an inspection regime. There is a telephone number that people can ring to get an inspection. Obviously, inspections are proceeding on a risk basis, so there is a way of working through. I am keen, if the member has a specific matter or constituent issue on his mind, to see the full details of it and then I will give him a detailed response.
