The DEPUTY SPEAKER (Hon. AR Bevis)—Mr Speaker has received letters from the honourable member for Kennedy and the honourable member for Sturt proposing that definite matters of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion today. As required by standing order 46(d) Mr Speaker has selected the matter which, in his opinion, is the most urgent and important; that is, that proposed by the honourable member for member for Sturt, namely:

The urgent need for the government to effectively manage the Primary Schools for the 21st Century Programme.

I call upon those members who approve of the proposed discussion to rise in their places.
