The DEPUTY SPEAKER (Hon. Peter Slipper)—Regarding division process, I note that, if members did not vote in the previous division, they should report to the tellers. My view is that reporting to the tellers means that they actually approach the tellers and do not just wave from the back of the chamber. I would ask those members who reported on this occasion—and this advice goes to other members as well—to physically report to the tellers and not simply give a breezy wave, should they report in future.

Without wanting to be too precious, I also remind honourable members that, when they pass in front of the chair, they should acknowledge the presence of the chair.
