Mr BRADBURY (6:53 PM)
—I rise today to take note of a significant event that is occurring in my electorate over the coming week: the Ulysses Club 2009 annual general meeting. This event has brought some 4,000 bikes thundering into the main street of Penrith, bringing with them some $10 million worth of injection into the local economy. It is a tremendous event. The whole city has got behind this event. I wish to pay tribute to the Penrith City Council for the great job that they have done in attracting and supporting this event. I acknowledge the National President of the Ulysses Club, Mr Kim Kennerson; and the local Nepean division president Mr Pat Coleman and also the AGM coordinator, Mr Peter Bernard. This is a tremendous event. I never thought I would see the day when so many people would be so happy to see 4,000 bikes come into town. It is something to behold. It will be a great stimulus to the local economy but it also showcases our local community to people who have come from very far afield.
