Mr HARTSUYKER (6:02 PM) —My question is to the Assistant Treasurer on the subject of Fuelwatch. Is the Assistant Treasurer aware of recent research widely publicised in much of the eastern Australian media which showed that a motorist in Perth, who had a typical buying pattern of purchasing fuel once a week, was paying some 1.25c a litre more than a motorist in Melbourne and in the order of 1.5c a litre more than a motorist in Sydney? What are the Assistant Treasurer’s views on this research and was it taken into account in any decision that was made by the government with regard to the implementation of Fuelwatch?
