Mr SWAN (Treasurer) (4:18 PM) —I move:

That this bill be now read a second time.

The bill imposes luxury car tax to the extent that it is neither a duty of customs nor a duty of excise.

The bill also alters the applicable luxury car tax rate of 25 per cent to 33 per cent with application on and from 1 July 2008.

I commend the bill to the House.

Debate (on motion by Mr Turnbull) adjourned.
