Mr FITZGIBBON (3:30 PM) —Mr Speaker, I wish to make a personal explanation.

The SPEAKER —Does the honourable member claim to have been misrepresented?

Mr FITZGIBBON —I do indeed.

The SPEAKER —Please proceed.

Mr FITZGIBBON —During question time today the Treasurer accused me of moving an amendment to tax law which would have extended a tax break to the James Hardie company. The amendment I moved would have extended a tax break not to the James Hardie company but to the compensation fund designed to compensate victims of the James Hardie company. It was the Treasurer who extended a tax break to the James Hardie company.

The SPEAKER —Order! The member will not debate the issue.
