Mr RUDDOCK (Attorney-General) (5:25 PM) —I will deal with the issues as briefly as I can. The APS is included in the Law Enforcement Integrity Commissioner Bill 2006. We do not believe there is any inconsistency: the APS employees are AFP employees. In terms of consultation, as you noted, there has been consultation with the police association. In relation to consideration by any other committee, I am informed there has not been. That means there has not been any consideration by the joint intelligence and security committee, but these amendments as proposed were a product of advice from those who work in this area.

Question agreed to.

Bill, as amended, agreed to.
