In October 1997, the Department of Finance and the Department of Administrative Services merged to form the Department of Finance and Administration (Finance). # The numbers include the Office of Asset Sales and Information Technology Outsourcing and the Office of Government Information Technology. ^ The numbers have taken into account the losses and gains as a result of the Machinery of Government changes implemented in December 2001 (Loss: Natural Disaster Relief Function, Overseas Property Management, Information Access Function, Royal Commission Administration, Remuneration Tribunal Secretariat.
