The following notice was given:

Ms Hoare to move:

(1) notes the continuing conflict in the Indonesian province of Aceh;

(2) notes the claim of certain Acehnese people for self-determination and the Indonesian Government's opposition to this claim; and

(3) encourages the Indonesian Government to:

(a) cease military operations in Aceh;

(b) provide peaceful space for citizens of Aceh;

(c) allow non-government organisations to deliver assistance to Aceh civilians; and

(d) negotiate in good faith a peace settlement with the Acehnese people.
