Mr BILLSON (3:24 PM) —Mr Speaker, yesterday in the Victorian Legislative Council—

The SPEAKER —The member for Dunkley—

The SPEAKER —I think the member for Ballarat has a very short memory. If I were to exercise the standing orders, she would, in common with other people, find herself outside the chamber.

Mr BILLSON —Sorry, Mr Speaker; I wish to make a personal explanation.

The SPEAKER —Does the honourable member claim to have been misrepresented?

Mr BILLSON —Yes, repeatedly.

The SPEAKER —Please proceed.

Mr BILLSON —Yesterday in the Victorian Legislative Council, the ALP member for Chelsea province, Bob Smith, remarked on the Frankston Business Chamber's `no tolls on Scoresby' campaign and said:

... the man responsible for coordinating this campaign for the Frankston Business Chamber is a Mr Scott Rankin. Now—shock, horror!—Mr Scott Rankin is not only a failed candidate at the last state election but also happens to be the brother-in-law of the federal member for Dunkley, Mr Bruce Billson.

I have no relation whatsoever with Mr Scott Rankin. This remark is patently untrue and I seek that it be corrected.

The SPEAKER —I thank the member for Dunkley. The chair would have been facilitated if he had earlier come to the point about how he had been misrepresented.
