Mr CREAN (2:43 PM) —My question is to the Prime Minister. I refer to media reports of the government's former finance minister, John Fahey, referring a proposal for a politicians redundancy benefits scheme to the Remuneration Tribunal on which the Remun-eration Tribunal has now reported. Prime Minister, given that what they have done is merely report and not make a determination, will the Prime Minister join with me in rejecting the proposed redundancy benefits for politicians?

Mr HOWARD (Prime Minister) —We will consider it and express our view when we have done that. I note with interest, of course, that not all members of your party have joined with you in rejecting it.
