To the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives assembled in Parliament:

This petition of certain residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the Draft Zoning Plan for the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. The Draft Zoning Plan unfairly excludes fishers and their families and will come at great economic, environmental and social cost to the residents of Queensland.

Your petitioners therefore pray that the House calls upon the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority to significantly reduce the proposed area of no-take zonings and provide compensation and structural adjustment to affected fishers.
