Ms MACKLIN (3:35 PM)
—Mr Speaker, I wish to make a personal explanation.
The SPEAKER
—Does the honourable member claim to have been misrepresented?
Ms MACKLIN
—Yes.
The SPEAKER
—Please proceed.
Ms MACKLIN
—In question time, the Prime Minister said that I had misled the parliament. The Prime Minister should look back at the House Hansard of 18 October 1999, when he answered a question at 2.01 p.m.—
Mr Abbott
—Mr Speaker, I rise on a point of order. The member should move quickly and immediately to the matter on which she has been misrepresented.
The SPEAKER
—I appreciate that, but I did feel that that was what the member for Jagajaga was doing, and that is why I allowed her to continue.
Ms MACKLIN
—The Prime Minister said:
... we have no intention of introducing a loans scheme ... there will be no real rates of interest.
