Mr LATHAM (2:49 PM)
—My question is again to the Prime Minister. I refer him to the contents of his Ministerial Code of Conduct, which says:
Ministers must be honest in their public dealings and should not intentionally mislead the parliament or the public.
Is the Prime Minister aware that his Minister for Revenue, Senator Coonan, told the Senate last Monday week:
I have absolutely no interest and never have had any interest in any property at Pittwater.
Given Senator Coonan's interest as joint developer at the Pittwater property, as shown on official documents, under the New South Wales Local Government Act, stamped and approved by Pittwater Council, Prime Minister, isn't this a straightforward case of the minister breaching your code of conduct?
Mr HOWARD (Prime Minister)
—From the information available to me, the answer to that question is no.
