Mr ANDERSON (Deputy Prime Minister) (3:39 PM)
—Very briefly, may I join the Leader of the Opposition and the Prime Minister on behalf of my own party, the National Party. Also, as the holder of the portfolio opposite that of the member for Batman, I extend my sympathies to Martin and Laurie—if I may break the rule in this case of not referring to them by the names of their electorate—and to their families. I have done so privately and I do so publicly. I had not personally met your father, but he was obviously very highly regarded and a man who committed very many of his years to the service of his fellow men and women, and we always salute that.
