Mr WILKIE (5:06 PM) —by leave—In view of the fact that the department has provided further information in relation to this matter, I support the statement made by the member for Curtin in relation to report No. 46 of the treaties committee. I would point out, though, that I am disappointed that the department did not provide adequate information in the first place and I acknowledge that the additional information provided, although more substantial, could be more conclusive. Therefore, I also acknowledge that another recommendation contained in the report will address this lack of a proper model to determine real benefits to Australia of double taxation agreements generally. I commend the report to the House.

Ms Julie Bishop —I ask leave of the House to present a copy of my statement.

Leave granted.
