To the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives assembled in Parliament:
The petition of certain community of the eastern region of Perth and surrounding regions, residents of the State of Western Australia draws to the attention of the House of Representatives the following actions that are not in keeping with the natural environment and heritage of Australia.
Dense urban development on wetlands, flood plains and flood fringe
Toxic waste dumps and incinerators in the region to take all Swan coastal plains rubbish
Dense urban development in the Hills River catchment area
Desecrating of remaining Aboriginal sites in the region
Loss of remaining areas of natural habitat and biodiversity
Logging of old growth forests
Your petitioners therefore request that the House of Representatives take action to stop the major loss from the region of our environmental biodiversity and heritage culture.
