Mr Murphy asked the Minister for Transport and Regional Services, upon notice, on 13 February 2002:

Further to his replies to part (1) of question No. 2310 (Hansard, 23 May 2001, page 26959), part (2) of question No. 2666 (Hansard, 6 August 2001, page 29253) and part (2) of question No. 2669 (Hansard, 6 August 2001, page 29254), will he put a moratorium on further expansion of Sydney Airport, together with an air quality capacity constraint on emissions, until a comprehensive study of health risks from long-term exposure to toxic transport emissions, including benzene and other known carcinogens, clarifies the risk situation; if not, why not.

Mr Anderson (Minister for Transport and Regional Services) —The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

No. I refer the Honourable Member to my answer to question 2845 (Hansard, 18 September 2001, page 30925).
