Mr RUDD (1:59 PM) —On Tuesday, 31 October Balmoral State High School in Brisbane will be having its annual speech night awards. Because of parliamentary commitments, I will be unable to attend those awards. I would like, however, to use this opportunity to acknowledge the particular achievements of senior dux, Poonam Pratap; the Caltex best all-rounder award to Kasey Bruekers; the Don Cameron Cup for contribution to the betterment of the school to Shelley Nolan; the John Campbell citizenship award to Rene Tongia-Mann; the languages award to Earl Tan; the overall best sportsman to William Hetheringham; and the junior dux, Johann Tan. Apart from that, Balmoral High School has in the last 12 months registered extraordinary achievements in a number of state-wide competitions: the New South Wales maths and science competitions and the Queensland English competition, just to name a few.

Mr SPEAKER —Order! It being 2 p.m., the time for members' statements has concluded.
