Mr LEE (1:59 PM) —In the 30 seconds remaining to me let me make the point to the House that the Howard government has cut funding for TAFE and VET throughout the country by $240 million. We have a Minister for Education, Training and Youth Affairs who is not brave enough to come into the chamber and debate the detail of his own legislation during the consideration in detail stage. He sends in the parliamentary secretary because he does not have the courage to come into this chamber to debate over the dispatch boxes this important level of funding. We are going to hold that minister accountable. We are going to ensure this government puts in a legitimate amount into vocational education and training.

Mr SPEAKER —Order! It being 2 p.m., the debate is interrupted in accordance with standing order 101A. The debate may be resumed at a later hour and the member for Dobell will have leave to continue speaking when the debate is resumed.
