Mr MARTIN FERGUSON (4:42 PM) —My question is to the Minister for Transport and Regional Services. In relation to Leighton's Speedrail proposal, do you still stand by the government's earlier commitment that it will be at no cost to the government or to the taxpayers?

Mr ANDERSON (Deputy Prime Minister) —As is so often the case, you have to go back and have a look at what we actually committed ourselves to. We indicated that there should be no net cost.

Mr ANDERSON —There is nothing wrong with that; it is entirely appropriate. On that basis, I have to say that the answer to the question is no, we do not, because that is not the position that we adopted.
