Ms ELLIS (5:58 PM) —I will be very brief because I believe that virtually every line that I would like to use in a motion like this today has already been covered by many of my colleagues. Mr Speaker, Greg and I did in fact share one unique thing—being class of 96ers, Greg and I each shared in the delight of taking a seat off one of your honourable colleagues at that election. I know that he and I reflected to each other in glory over that, despite the misery and devastation around us at the time. It is true to say that the Wild Thing was a bit of a notorious exhibition, and I have to say very proudly that it actually began at one of my fundraising dinners, which also became a little notorious in a way. Being an opportunistic politician, I always made sure the dinners were held on sitting nights so that colleagues, like Greg, could come along and I could get as much financial support as possible from my colleagues.

With respect to interjections, the member for Lyons has stolen just a slight bit of my thunder. I would just say that I think I am the failure in the interjection class of '96-'98. I was in fact seated in the front row with the member for Prospect, the professor of the school. I was surrounded by the member for Lyons, the member for Isaacs and the member for Grayndler who immediately come to mind, all of whom in their first qualification period have gone to the top of the class. Many of my colleagues actually take delight in reminding me that I am failing somewhat in that area. The member for Isaacs, Greg, certainly did me proud in representing me in that area. I want to endorse entirely the words of everybody today. Even though I did not know Greg's family—I have met his wife briefly—it is very evident that all of our sympathies go with them and to all of us here too. It is a very difficult time.
