Mr SPEAKER (4:52 PM)
—I would indicate to the member for Denison that matters of privilege are deemed to be serious matters before the House and leave is not necessary before the documents are presented for tabling. I also indicate to the House that, while it is customary for matters of privilege to be brought to the House at the earliest available opportunity, the member for Denison had alerted me to this matter prior to question time and provided me with the material, although I have not done it justice. For that reason, I felt that it had been brought to my attention and it was appropriate for it to be brought to the House's attention at this stage rather than prior to question time. I will look at the documents presented by the member for Denison and report to the House as early as is conveniently possible.
