Mr FITZGIBBON —Today's parliamentary sitting represented the government's last chance to respond to the report by the Joint Select Committee on the Retailing Sector within the requisite 90 days. Pursuant to standing order 150, would you write to the Minister for Employment, Workplace Relations and Small Business, encouraging him to do something for small firms in this country by responding to that report?

Mr SPEAKER —There is no obligation on the chair to write to the committee as, of course, there is an obligation under the standing orders to respond to unanswered questions to ministers.
