Mr SPEAKER —I have received a letter from the Deputy Leader of the Opposition proposing that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion, namely:

The failure of the government to justify the claimed merits and disclose the full details of its GST package and to adequately compensate those who will be unfairly impacted on by its introduction.

I call upon those members who approve of the proposed discussion to rise in their places.
