Mr CREAN (4:27 PM)
—Mr Speaker, I seek your indulgence on a matter that I raised with you earlier.
Mr SPEAKER
—The member for Hotham may proceed.
Mr CREAN
—Mr Speaker, I will not take much time. My attention has been drawn to a comment made yesterday by the Treasurer in relation to me and a number of other people in which he said, `Get born in the back of a Comcar.' My parents, in particular my mother, found this comment deeply offensive. It is another example of the Treasurer going too far. He, more than anyone, should be aware of the people whose feelings are hurt as a consequence of stupid statements.
