Mr LEO McLEAY
—Mr Speaker, you might recall that the House was informed on 8 February this year that you had received advice from the Prime Minister nominating Mr McArthur, Mr Nehl, Mr Jull and me to be
members of the Joint Committee on the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation. Will you write to the Prime Minister and advise him that section 92B (7) of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Act provides that Mr Nehl is unable to be a member of that committee? Will you further seek advice as to whether the Prime Minister has breached the ASIO Act or that Jackie Kelly, the Minister for Sport and Tourism, by moving that Mr Nehl be a member of the committee, has breached the ASIO Act?
Mr SPEAKER
—I would report to the House that I am conscious of the matter raised by the member for Watson and in fact action will be taken and I will report back to the House at its next sitting.
