Mr Mossfield asked the Minister for Employment, Education, Training and Youth Affairs, upon notice, on 27 May 1998:

Have funding decisions been made for organisations conducting the ongoing Job Placement, Employment and Training Projects; if so, (a) when will the successful organisations be announced, (b) are the successful organisations spread over all electoral divisions; and (c) has the announcement of the successful organisations been delayed; if so, why.


Dr Kemp (Employment, Education, Training and Youth Affairs;Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Public Service) —The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

(a) An announcement of the organisations which successfully tendered for provision of JPET services was made on 16 June 1998.

(b) The distribution of JPET services is spread across the country, where disadvantaged and at risk populations of young people are highest. There are 102 services covering 75 electorates.

In some instances an organisation may be proposing to provide services across more than one electorate.
