Dr LAWRENCE —My question is to the Prime Minister. Will the Prime Minister admit that his new hidden GST is going to make school holidays far more expensive for Australian families? With his GST on footy tickets, food, the program, public transport and a supporters cap, won't a day at the footy cost a family of four around another $10 in tax? Won't an afternoon at the movies and McDonald's—with tickets, popcorn and the rest—cost a family almost another $10? And won't a weekend camping in a national park—with entry fees, camping permit, tent hire and so on—cost around another $20 with the new hidden GST? Prime Minister, while these amounts might not mean much to you on your salary, how can you deny that they will really hurt ordinary families?

Mr SPEAKER —The member for Swan will not be exhibiting signs in the House. Nor will the member for Franklin.

Mr HOWARD (Prime Minister) —I thank the honourable member for Fremantle for her question. My reply to the honourable member is that the entire Australian community will be greatly benefited by our tax reform package.
