A Petition to the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives assembled in the Commonwealth Parliament of Australia.

This petition of certain residents in the State of Queensland calls to the attention of the House the Howard Government's proposed changes to nursing homes and aged care, which includes charging an entry fee or bond for entry into nursing homes. The Government's proposals are unfair and will discriminate against the most vulnerable, frail and sick members of our community.

We request the House to call on the Howard Government to abandon their plans and to immediately restore full funding for capital assistance to nursing homes.
