Mr HOWARD (Prime Minister) (2:01 PM) —Mr Speaker, I would like briefly to associate myself and the members of the government with your remarks. I remember, along with you and the late Mick Young, who was then the Leader of the House, making some remarks on Kevin Chapman's retirement in 1986. He was as you rightly say the voice of parliament to millions of Australians. For those of us who listened to parliament on the radio before entering this place he was absolutely synonymous with the institution. I therefore extend to his family my sympathy and that of the members of the Liberal and National parties.
