Mr BRUCE SCOTT (Veterans' Affairs) (8:13 PM)
—The government does not support the amendments. As I explained to the House in summing up, as far as research for the fisheries industry—which the member for Burke (Mr O'Keefe) and the opposition are concerned about—is concerned, we are going to be maintaining our dollar for dollar contribution to research in the fishing industry, so it is not as though we are against agricultural research for the beef, wool or fishing industries.
Mr O'Keefe
—But you aren't going to contribute.
Mr BRUCE SCOTT
—We are going to contribute one dollar for every dollar contributed by the fishing industry. The government will not be supporting the amendments.
