Mr LLOYD —I rise briefly this afternoon to record my congratulations to the Central Coast Division of the Royal Volunteer Coastal Patrol, which held a very successful fish-n-ships fishing competition in my electorate yesterday, Sunday, 8 March. As honourable members would know, the Royal Volunteer Coastal Patrol provides an invaluable service to many thousands of people who enjoy our waterways throughout Australia. The coastal patrol is wholly manned by volunteers and does rely solely on its fundraising efforts.

This is the second time the fish-n-ships fundraising event has been held on the Central Coast and, hopefully, it will continue as an annual event. This year over $5,000 has been raised from the event and the proceeds will be shared between the Central Coast area health service and the Royal Volunteer Coastal Patrol. A large crowd of local residents and visitors turned out on the foreshore of the Brisbane Waters to participate in the event. I was pleased to be able to read out a letter of support and congratulations from our Prime Minister, John Howard, on the day.

There are some people who were involved in that event who I would like to note: Mr Eddie Wright, the Special Projects Lieutenant; Mr Campbell Ker, the Administration Officer; Mr Ron Sinclair, the PR Officer; Mr Fred Hewitt, the Operations Officer; Ms Joy Smith, President of the Ladies Auxiliary; and Commander Al Morris, Divisional Commander of the Central Coast Division of the Royal Volunteer Coastal Patrol, and his wife, Judith. They all did an excellent job in making this day a very successful day. I look forward to it continuing for some time. (Time expired)

Mr SPEAKER —I am afraid this is really intended to be time for private members. There being no private member who has risen, I will call the honourable member for Burke. Hang on, the honourable member for Isaacs rose behind you. So I am afraid that, there being a private member rising, I cannot give the call to you. Only if there is no private member rising can I give the call to a shadow minister.
