Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER (Mr Nehl) —Mr Speaker has received a letter from the honourable member for Cunningham (Mr Martin) proposing that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion, namely:

The failure of the government to prevent the recent influx of heroin and other harmful drugs as a result of federal budget cuts to the Australian Federal Police and the Australian Customs Service which has led to the unnecessary death of hundreds of young Australians.

I call upon those members who approve of the proposed discussion to rise in their places.
