Mr REITH (Leader of the House)(3.22 p.m.) —I ask leave of the House to move a motion to enable the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Beazley) to speak for 14 minutes.


Mr Beazley —I always let you go for 15 minutes.


Mr REITH —It is following exactly the same precedent—


Mr Beazley —No, it is not.


Mr REITH —We could have an open-ended one, but you have not been keeping to it.

Motion (by Mr Reith)—by leave—agreed to:

That so much of the standing and sessional orders be suspended as would prevent the Hon. the Leader of the Opposition speaking for a period not exceeding 14 minutes.
