To the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives assembled in Parliament:
The petition of certain residents of the State of New South Wales draws to the attention of the House their concern at the proposals to import cooked chicken meat into Australia, particularly the risk of disease to the poultry industry and native bird population, and the economic impact this will have on the domestic industry. Your petitioners therefore pray that the House take such action as will ensure that there be no importation of cooked chicken meat into Australia.
