To the Honourable Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives assembled in Parliament:
The petition of certain citizens of Australia draws to the attention of the House need for reforms in the Child Support Scheme. Your petitioners therefore ask the House to introduce and implement the following reforms:
1. That child support payments be calculated on the non-custodial parent's (payer) net basic rate of pay, exclusive of all allowances, overtime and loading. Not on gross income as it is at present and the lowering of percentages.
2. Lowering of `the cut off points' as an incentive to continue in the workplace.
3. Child Support payments be calculated from the net income on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis.
4. The non-custodial parent receives a reduction in the child support payment while he or she has the children for periods of time e.g. holidays.
