Mr PRICE —I have a question to you, Mr Acting Speaker. Mr Speaker has been in the habit of responding to members about different points that arise about his particular interpretation of standing orders, which generally I would commend. However, it places all members at the disadvantage that they are not in receipt of or do not benefit from his particular view about those standing orders and, if the political parties in this chamber are so informed, I am sure the Independents would be left in the dark. Could you raise with Mr Speaker—

Mr PRICE —I am not going to say, `Quite rightly so.' Mr Acting Speaker, could you raise with Mr Speaker on his return whether or not a system could be developed so that all members may have the benefit of his wisdom in relation to standing and sessional orders rather than the recipient of his particular letter?

Mr ACTING SPEAKER —I will certainly consult with the Speaker on his return. I see no reason why there should be any secrets in terms of those rulings.
