Mr Filing to move—
That this House:
(1) notes there is currently widespread artificial manipulation by oil companies of the price of petrol and diesel fuel products;
(2) believes this manipulation results in artificially inflated prices for consumers across the country; and
(3) therefore calls on the Government to legislate immediately to ensure free market conditions are restored to the retail fuel industry by classifying fuel as a generic product allowing sellers to open themselves up to complete market competition so that retailers can purchase their fuel at the best available price on a day-to-day basis.
