Mr ALLAN MORRIS
—Mr Speaker, in this new era of independent speakers—I am still working out what that means—
Mr SPEAKER
—We both are.
Mr ALLAN MORRIS
—I would be grateful if you could go back to the question asked of the Minister for Finance about the currency, the budget and its implications. I ask you to look at not only the question and the answer but also your comments about relevance. Could you then explain to us all—or drop me a note—how the answer is in any way related to the question and advise us what your rules are on relevance.
Quite clearly, you said some fine words when you were elected. We took you seriously. I, for one, wish to take you seriously, but that question and answer beggar the imagina tion. I would be grateful for a formal response to what your rules are on relevance.
Mr SPEAKER
—The member for Newcastle has already received some correspondence from me. I will review the nature of your question this afternoon and, if necessary, I will respond to you privately.
