To the Honourable the Speaker and members of the House of Representatives assembled in Parliament:
The petition of certain citizens of Australia draws the attention of the House to the fact that:
for the first time there is a drug brand name, Betaferon, which has proven to assist many people with Multiple Sclerosis.
Your petitioners therefore ask the House to have Betaferon subsidised under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
With this listing the drug would cost $1500 per month which is clearly unaffordable.
