Mr CREAN
—My question is to the Minister for Industry, Science and Tourism. I ask: has he seen the five-year business outlook released today by Access Economics? Given that in Labor's last term the annual growth in manufacturing output has averaged between five and six per cent, what does that report say for your policies that the growth in manufacturing output is predicted to fall from 6.4 per cent last year to 2.7 per cent by the end of the decade? Specifically, what does this do to your target of creating 200,000 jobs in manufacturing by the year 2000?
Mr MOORE
—I have not seen the report referred to, but nevertheless I am quite convinced that the government's budget, which will come out on 20 August, will be one framed for the benefit of all business in Australia and that the outcomes that I spoke about in the election campaign will be met.
