Mr BEAZLEY
—My question is directed to the Prime Minister and follows his statement that prior to the election he said that he would set no targets as far as unemployment was concerned. I therefore quote from a speech that he made to ACOSS in which he talked about benchmarking his plans for society's most disadvantaged. He said:
The coalition is confident that we will achieve significantly better future job growth than Labor could.
Are you therefore committing to create significantly better than Labor's 730,000 new jobs last term in your term?
Mr HOWARD
—I said in answer to the last question that I was not setting a numerical target, and that remains the answer.
